A Rainy North Carolina Engagement Session

There’s something special about engagement sessions that don’t go exactly according to plan. This North Carolina engagement session started with a little rain, but the wet weather ended up adding something really beautiful to the photos.

We started the session with a more playful stop at a local Dairy Queen before heading to the lake. It was a fun way to include a little bit of their everyday relationship in the photos rather than making the entire session feel overly posed.

Once we made our way onto the boardwalk, the rain had left everything wet and reflective. The wooden walkway, calm water, and overcast sky created a softer, more intimate setting. We spent time walking, talking, and letting them interact naturally while I photographed the moments in between the poses.
